Welcome to our Homepage

Our team is working on advanced methods in electron microscopy with the aim to study materials on microscopic scale down to atomic resolution. The goal of our work is to achieve a quantitative understanding of the correlation between fabrication and materials structure on one hand and between materials structure and materials properties on the other hand. Our main focus is on functional materials, nano-structures, interfaces and thin film systems.

Further details on our research topics can be found here.

Inauguration of the new Titan³ Themis 300 and the new Chair “Institute of Micro- and Nanostructure Research”

30. April 2015

We have the great pleasure to announce and cordially invite you to the inauguration of the new Titan³ Themis 300 TEM and the new Chair “Institute of Micro- and Nanostructure Research”. The inauguration will take place on the 30th April 2015 at 10:00 in the Hans-Georg-Waeber-Saal, Fraunhofer IISB. Subsequently the symposium “Advanced Electron Microscopy for Materials Research” will take place at 14:00 at the same location.

More information is available in the flyer (german).
